Esupply (ideal 0→1) ≈ C × V²
Stored capacitor energy and supply energy are different concepts: an ideal 0→1 charge stores ½CV² on the capacitor while approximately CV² is drawn from the supply. This simplified model excludes leakage/static power, clock-tree power, short-circuit current, memory, I/O and activity distribution.
